~The 53 Degrees venue on Brook Street Preston has staged some memorable events over the years.  From comedy acts to tribute bands, the 53 has proudly catered for all.

On Saturday 21st July  between 12pm and 4.30pm it plays host to a writing event which sparks the imagination. The Northern Literary Festival is coming to Preston with the theme, ‘The Supernatural and Fantastical’.

Here is a complete overview of what can be expected on the day :-

12pm – Doors Open. Get here early to secure a good seat! They’ll be a bookish face painting and other activities.

1pm – Fantasy Panel. Melinda Salisbury will be chairing a discussion with Sally Green, Taran Matharu and Alexandra Christo. Four  bestselling authors join together to create a unique discussion you don’t want to miss!

2pm – Author Signing. Melinda Salisbury, Sally Green, Taran Matharu & Alexandra Christo

3pm – Supernatural Panel. David Owen will be chairing a discussion with A.J Hartley, Melvin Burgess and Marcus Sedgwick. The panel will develop the supernatural theme and literary novels surrounding it.

4pm – Author Signing. David Owen, A.J Hartley, Marcus Sedgwick & Melvin Burgess.

In addition to the above, interested ones are encouraged to bring any old books to the Book Exchange Stall and swap them for a more preferred read.
