~Music - the rhythmic arrangement of a series of musicians to create a sound or song that is both original and infectious.
Poetry - the rhythmic formula of a series of words defined by a collection of stanzas to create a piece of performance spoken word that is both unique to the reader and their audience.
It’s apparent that there are some similarities in both music and poetry but what if the two were somehow combined to create an interesting evening of entertainment at a venue in Lancashire.
Local writers and poets have teamed up with jazz trombonist, composer, poet, Paul Taylor to combine the above art forms into a daring and exciting performance. Paul is an experienced musician and can successfully improvise in both music and word format.
‘Music in Poetry’ is taking place at the United Reformed Church in Clitheroe on Sunday 6th May 2018. The venue is open from 5pm with the main acts taking to the stage at 5.30pm. The evening is expected to conclude at 8pm.
Ticket prices varies from £10 advance to £8 for members. (For Ribble Valley Jazz Club Member tickets, please book through Box Office on 01200 421599, quoting Membership number)

A trio of Sheffield actors called ‘Words Aloud’ are also expected to perform. Their highly innovative act will include audience participation so be prepared!
