From Coffe Bar - Tapas Bar - New Performance Venue In Preston

Mar, 22 2018

~If you’ve ever watched the popular morning daytime show ‘This Morning’ you’ll be familiar with the format that, on occasion they perform makeovers on the those that have been nominated by either their friends or family. Prior to appearing on the show they may have worn perhaps unfashionable clothes and cared little if at all  for their appearance. Now  after 90 minutes they are a new improved model and have the confidence to walk down the high street with impressive looks from passers by.

Closer to home in Preston it’s streets has recently experienced a makeover of it’s own. Located at St. Wilfrid Street, ‘Coffee Bar Culture’ was just your standard coffee and nibbles type place of relaxation and meeting up with friends.

Now it has had a full makeover and is called ‘Culture Tapas Bar’, serving a selection of cocktail drinks and a  fantastic menu of food to feast your eyes on.

However much like ‘This Morning’ which regularly invites people from the world of theatre and entertainment, this newly enhanced bar will have it’s own theatre. In comparison to London style theatre pub ‘ The Kings Head’ the theatre will provide a venue for people to have a drink whilst enjoying a show, seating approximately 30 people.

Groups and individuals will be able to hire the venue for performances, such as theatre groups, comedians, singers, poetry, exhibitions and will also feature in house artistic director Andrew Sumner.

Andrew speaks about his prospects for the new bar and the opportunities available for those in the performing arts  field,

“The venue is very intimate, and our intention is to have live performances on upstairs. We want a diverse mix of performances. We are keen to talk to performers, groups and anyone that may have a show and would like to perform. We intend to have a mailing list that can be joined by email and will promote a full season of work once everything is confirmed.”

The black box theatre will be officially open this summer 2018 which will open the door to local performance  talent in the North West of England.

Much like ‘This Morning’ in which they invite a trained celebrity chef to demonstrate a meal you can make at home, at The Culture Tapas Bar there is a wide variety of food on offer from  a classic Spanish style section including Andulusian Chicken and Spicy Chorizo Stew dishes to Indonesian Satay and Louisiana style Jambalaya dishes.

Culture Tapas Bar is open Tuesday – Fridays from 12 – 2.30pm, 5pm -9pm.It’s also open on Saturdays from 12pm till late, and is available for private hire on Sundays. You can get in touch with Culture Tapas Bar by calling 01772 821141.

Enjoy the company of friends and family as you soak in the atmosphere at this exciting makeover with many potential prospects for local performing talent.
