Preston Book Club - February And March 2018

~As winter is gradually fading away and the dawn of the spring sunshine is waking up our daily lives we may feel more inclined to work in the garden then read a good book.
An evening however catered for book lovers with food and literary discussion sounds ideal especially as some of us may need to reinvigorate our love for the written prose.
Next Tuesday 27th February 2018 A Community Book Club is taking place at The Town House Coffee & Brew Bar located at 62 Friargate, PR1, 2AT, Preston, Lancashire. The evening will commence at 6-7.30pm complete with a discussion on the themed book and food and drink including pizza.
This month there will be a chance to explore the hidden depths behind the author and book, The Power by Naomi Alderman. Naomi has written a unique piece of literature which centres around a series of girls whose lives all change in a dramatic turn of events. It is an extraordinary novel that Naomi has successfully achieved and been given the accolade of Sunday Times Young Writer of the Year and Granta Best of British writer.
In addition to Naomi’s powerful work there will also be a chance to share books by those attending who have inspired or influenced them in some way recently or in the past.
This is an evening catered for people of all ages young and old in a relaxed environment to encourage participation and to speak freely about the themed book or other literary reads.
‘The Power’ by Naomi Alderman is a gripping story of how the world would change if power was in the hands of women but also exposes, with breath-taking daring, our contemporary world.
