Transition - Mandarin Rock Band - 53 Venue - 8-9.30pm- 27/2/18

Feb, 20 2018

~The 53 Venue in Preston is more well known for it’s indie, tribute acts and comedy shows. It would be a unique experience then to have a band that created a sound which instantly transports you to China.

Simply called ‘Transition’ this British  rock band lived and performed in Taiwan for a three year duration. This strongly influenced their sound and direction which inspired their first mandarin single ‘ Sorry my Chinese Isn’t so Good’ a feel good you tube hit that has gathered momentum and become an anthem for all foreigners who are learning Chinese.

In 2012 the band were given the prestigious honour of creating the official theme song for the Taiwanese Olympic team becoming the first ever foreign band to be given this opportunity.

Six years later and the band have their first ever mandarin album. ‘Going Beyond’ sees creative production from some big names in the industry:-
Jay Chou (arrangement advice), Wing Lo (lyrical assistance) and the band's long-term friend, Sam Bell (U2, REM, Robbie Williams, Snow Patrol, Bloc Party, Editors) .

On Tuesday February 27th 2018 between 8-9.30pm you can see the band perform at Venue 53, the Universities student union. The band will perform ‘Going Beyond’ in it’s entirety, a unique fusion of east meets west rock music.

A British band creating an Asian sound, you could say they were ‘lost in transition’.
