OCD Interest Day - Preston Lune Street - 9.30 -1.30pm 22/2/18

Feb, 19 2018

~It’s true that certain mental health conditions have similar symptoms. They all at some time experience severe anxiety and a feeling of overwhelming stress as they endure and tolerate the weight of the world.

Take for example OCD ( Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) the symptoms a person with this condition will suffer with are extreme attention to detail to the point that their very life depends on it. Now a person with chronic schizophrenia may have something similar. For them it’s more probable that they avoid certain situations to protect their mental health so that they can feel safe and secure.

Support however is available. If you, your loved one or a family member is currently in the midst of a setback or are needing specialist  help and guidance then you may find the following information applicable to you, especially if you suffer with OCD.

UCLAN are hosting their second OCD interest day this Thursday 22nd February 2018. It will take place at 44, Lune Street Preston between the hours of  9.30am -1.30pm in the afternoon. Admission is completely free.

This interest day is designed to spark enthusiasm by those that attend with the long term goal to have an OCD peer support group located in Preston city centre.

Back in 2015 an OCD group was established. It was a great success but since then interest has dwindled. Now in 2018, and with more people diagnosed with this debilitating mental health condition, it appears interest has ignited once again. Organisers are keen to include those who suffer with OCD as well as carers to help with the group. For further information please contact the organiser on :- 01772 895 373.
