Damson Poets Ham And Jam Coffee Shop 25/10/17

~Wouldn’t it be good if, for just one night in the month you could experience a literary feast in the form of new poetry. Poetry that is set in a relaxed café in the centre of busy city. A city that breathes creative freedom via the University, the library and the Harris Museum and Art Gallery.

‘The Damson Poets’ situated at The Ham and Jam Coffee Shop on Lancaster Road, Preston has been running for some time now. It takes place on the last Wednesday of every month.

This Wednesday (25th October 2017) you can enjoy such an occasion. Admission is free and the acts begin at 7.30pm with an overall conclusion at 9.30pm.

This month’s headline acts are Nick Williams and Mike Barlow. Following their performances, members of the audience are encouraged to participate in the form of an open - mic. This could take the realm of complete newcomers or  the more established performer spitting rhymes on the mic.

Last month the café played host to headline acts Martin Domelo and Yvonne Reddick. Next month ( Wednesday 29th November ) you can expect to see Vicky Lindsay and Mark Carson as well as the regular open mic slot for the brave and eager poets who are willing to share their work.

The Ham and Jam Coffee Shop also welcomes in musicians, themed evenings and the occasional book launch. It is located close to the  newly refurbished Preston Guild Hall on Lancaster Road.

So come along, listen and/or share your poetry in a relaxed, friendly and encouraging atmosphere.
