~From rousing to melancholic, attending a classical concert is a truly magical experience. When well known pieces from four striving countries such as Italy, France, Russia and America come alive to an appreciative audience it makes the conductor swell with joy to what he has directed his orchestra to create.

On Sunday 8th October 2017 The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra is coming to The Preston Guild Hall. They will successfully interpret four wonderful classical pieces of music from Stravinsky’s revolutionary ballet  to Korngold’s buccaneering score making it  one of the all-time great Hollywood swashbucklers.

The full four pieces are as followed :-
Korngold Theme from The Sea Hawk
Delius Two Pieces for Small Orchestra: On Hearing the First Cuckoo in Spring and Summer Night on the River
Respighi Suite, The Birds
Stravinsky The Firebird (original version, 1910)

Vasily Petrenko will conduct his highly skilled and accomplished musicians through the above as he seeks to find his inner child through the playfulness of Respighi’s The Birds and performing  his absolute contentment with  Delius’s Two Pieces..
