Family Fun At Fishwick Nature Reserve 1/8/17 - 15/8/17

~Now that the kids are off school, as a parent your probably searching for something to keep them busy, to keep them out of mischief and to keep them occupied for several hours.

Next Tuesday 1st August 2017 from 1pm -3pm at Fishwick Local Nature Reserve on London Road Preston is an event organised by the Park Ranger which will encourage the young ones to explore some of the creatures that are lurking in the meadows, woods and ponds at the reserve.

The session is free to attend but children will need to wear appropriate clothing such as waterproofs and wellies as they go on a mini- beast safari.

Other events scheduled at Fishwick include ‘Attack and Defence’ on Tuesday 8th August 2017 from 1-3pm. This is a chance for the young ones to learn about survival in the natural world of plants and animals. Meeting point is at  the recreation ground car park, London Road.

Children can also attend “Ranger for a Day and Exploring Fishwick” on Tuesday 15th August 2017 from 1-3pm. To experience the life of a ranger you need to attend the morning session run from 10am-12noon which will include lending your hand at tidying the reserve and possibly some mending and making.

The afternoon session ( 1-3) will include a walk around the nature reserve where there you can learn about the stories behind all the place names in the reserve - The Big Steps, Throslock Wood and other secrets, like Troglodyte Corner and the Trolley Tree, will also be revealed.
