~Summer is the ideal opportunity to enjoy yourself. Whether your learning something new or taking it easy with friends and family.

Throughout late May and early June Preston has provided some great events for children, teenagers and adults. Here is an overview of what you can expect over the next 6 weeks :-

Running now and until the 12th September is ‘Getting to know Lancashire Archives’. Cost of admission is free and you will learn how to use the resources at Lancashire Archives. The remainder of the sessions will take place on the following days :- Friday 9 June 2017 - 2.30pm - 4pm Tuesday 11 July 2017 - 5.30pm - 7pm Friday 11 August 2017 - 2.30pm - 4pm Tuesday 9 September 2017 - 10am - 11am. Scene Preston has been established for twenty years now and in honour of such an achievement there is a full day planned of skate jams music and food held at the Moor Park Skatepark in Preston. This will take place on Sunday 28th May. In addition there will also be a Live Art Wall and loads of prizes and giveaways.

Time with our children is always to be cherished and what finer to do so than by doing something creative. On Saturday 3rd June ‘Making a Mark’ makes it’s way to The Harris Museum and Art Gallery. There will be a life drawing event in which interested ones can draw/pencil Pauline in the Yellow Dress. You can also use your phones to take pictures and see them on a large mosaic by tweeting them using #making mark.
There is also spinning and weaving in the makerspace at the Harris.

Ashton Park is normally known for it’s peaceful surroundings, ideal for dog walking or time out with the youngsters. On Sunday 4th June from 10am -4pm however, it will be transformed into a great family fun day out. Let’s the kids go wild on the bouncy castles and trampolines whilst the adults take it easy with the food and stalls. The whole family though can enjoy the entertainment available in the form of music and dancing.

So there’s lots to do in and around the city centre of Preston, Lancashire for the next six weeks or. Don’t be afraid, get involved and have fun this May and June 2017.
