Call For Proposals :- Reflective Conservatoire Conference February 2018

Mar, 14 2017

~Despite it only being March 2017 plans are already underway for the 2018 Reflective Conservatoire Conference.

Scheduled to run from 20 - 23rd February at the Guildhall School based solely on the theme of Artists as Citizens.

The four day conference is expected to explore how artists, arts organisations, and specialist higher education in the performing arts in particular, can and are already engaging with artistic citizenship within contemporary societies.

In addition the following three questions will be developed in a clear and concise way making it personal both to the artist and those who wish to attend :-

*What are the possibilities for practitioners individually and collectively?
*How are specialist higher education curricula changing in response to this agenda?
*What are the implications and opportunities for organisational development and leadership?

Submissions are now open and they can be produced in a variety of formats ( academic papers, performance papers, practical workshops, performances, symposia and round tables). You must consider the following five aspects when creating your submission :-

*Concepts and significance of artistic citizenship
*Promising new practices
*Enabling artists as citizens – from cradle to grave
*Organisational development and leadership
 *Impact and advocacy

The selection committee actively encourages submissions for experiential sessions. The deadline for submitting a proposal is 10am on Wednesday 24 May 2017.

For more information on the themes or how to submit, please visit http://www.gsmd.ac.uk/rcc or don’t hesitate contact conference.2018@gsmd.ac.uk.
