Spotlight On CCG Members :- Miss Angela Murphy OBE

Jan, 17 2017

~A notable person of UCLAN has dedicated herself to education and the rights of student’s opportunities for the past 35 years. She has also taken her work  abroad where she became a specialist education advisor to a private HE institution in the Sultanate of Oman, to the former VP of City U Hong Kong, and a Chinese consortium. At the conclusion of 2011 her work within the field of international educational development was recognised at a national level and she thus was awarded an OBE (Order of the British Empire) for her pioneering work. Miss Angela Murphy, OBE is the subject of this week’s ‘Spotlight on CCG Members’.

In the mid 80’s some of us where still in school but it was at this time where Angela began her interest and involvement in international higher education. Over the years she was consistently honing her craft and working her way up the career ladder which ultimately led to holding senior posts. Her most recent being Deputy Vice- Chancellor (International).

As well as her knowledge and skills within the higher education remit, Angela has also helped considerably in the welfare of students regarding affairs and their experience. Quality and standards, marketing, recruitment and branding have seen her excel in these areas of senior management.

By January 2012,  Angela had experience and witnessed first hand knowledge of higher education in many Universities that she was more than ready to work further afield be it locally and internationally. She established a global educational consultancy company which allowed her to work for major Universities in the UK including, England, Wales and Scotland.  Becoming a specialist advisor to a private HE institution mentioned at the outset gave her work colleagues that saw her taking her educational knowledge and experience to greater continents.

Due to the above, Angela is currently the Managing Director of AMM Global Education Consultancy Limited, a higher education consultancy company which provides dedicated international services to educational institutions.

Last December 2016, Angela was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by UCLAN for her work in education over the past 35 years or so.

Now in January 2017, the CCG are more than happy to welcome her as an official member and no doubt a great contributor to the work the CCG does in the community.
