Absolute Bowie Blackburn King Georges Hall 18th November 2016

~It’s been six months since we lost one of the world’s greatest musicians. Yes, David Bowie encapsulated a particular time in music that can never be forgotten. From his early recordings as David Jones to his alter ego alien like form Ziggy Stardust, a character that epitomized the glam rock era. Then in the mid 70’s he developed as a rock star with hits such as Young Americans and Heroes. The last thirty years of his life saw him in starring films roles ( iconic villain in The Labyrinth)  re-invent his sound once again ( 1997’s drum bass Earthling experience)  and just recently he released his last swansong album ‘Blackstar’ a parting gift to his fans.

Thankfully his music will never fade. Tribute bands have attempted to stylize Bowie’s sound but none have impressed upon the ears of his fans apart from ‘Absolute Bowie’ a name no doubt referencing his 1986 hit Absolute Beginners.
