You've Got A Friend :- June 17th Celebrate Taylor And King At The Grand Clitheroe

May, 27 2016

~Over the years there have been some unique collaborations with some of the greatest stars in the world of music. Think of the  magic created when David Bowie and Bing Crosby got together to record the 1982 Christmas single ‘Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy’. In stark contrast to the 2015 song ‘ FourFiveSeconds’ in which Beatle icon Paul Mccartney collaborated with Kanye West and r ‘n’ b star Rihanna.

It’s clear that when musical minds get together some rather special things are delivered. This is further realised with the uniquely crafted friendship that lies with James Taylor and Carole King. Both emerged in the swinging sixties period and both have an  extensive back catalogue that combines both soft rock and folk rock.

Now in 2016 and from the creators of smash hit West End show “The Simon and Garfunkel Story” comes a brand new theatre experience celebrating two of the world’s greatest songwriters, Carole king and James Taylor.

If you’re a fan of both artists you’ll no doubt have their albums that span hits such as ‘Will you still love me tomorrow’, ‘How sweet it is (to be loved by you’) ‘Fire and Rain’ ‘You make me feel (like a natural woman) and the title track of the show ‘You’ve got a friend’.

The title track epitomizes their long lasting appreciation of each other and how they have been their for each other through good and bad times. You could accompany a friend to this must see performance evening scheduled to run at The Grand on 18, York Street Clitheroe.

‘You’ve got a friend’ takes place on 17th June 2016. Tickets are priced at a mere £15.  The venue is open at 7pm with the musicians taking to the stage at 7.45pm.
