Lightning Talent Coming To Blackburn

Lightning Talent Coming To Blackburn

May, 24 2016

~We know the drill. Millions of people audition every year to perform their either eccentric or learnt/acquired skill. Then to be scrutinised by a series of four judges some comic some serious which can either send them to round two or kick them out of the whole competition. No, I’m not referring to The X - Factor, I’m referring to Britain’s Got Talent which is currently on it’s semi-final week on television now.

This year it’s celebrating it’s 10th Anniversary on a show that brought us Susan Boyle, Paul Potts and the dance prolific group Diversity. This year is no different. It has some class acts and some not so class acts it’s all a matter of taste.

Last year (2015) saw some great acts grace the Britain’s Got Talent stage. One particular act who made it  to semi finalist week was Henry Gallagher, a 12 year old boy who penned a song about a girl he fancied at school who had no idea of his feelings. The song was called ’Lightning’ and it was a catchy upbeat song about the innocence of love in childhood.

Now in 2016 and at 13 he may have the girl of his dreams but his reality is that he is performing live at the final of the Last Choir Singing competition at Blackburn’s King Georges Hall on Friday June 17th as children from Fylde and Wyre compete for the title.

Henry speaks of the privilege of being asked to perform,

“It is even more special to me as I know how much singing will mean to the children taking part”.

Other schools in the final include, Shakespeare Primary School, Fleetwood Kirkham Grammar Junior School, Great Eccleston Copp CE Primary School and many more.

The current series of Britain’s Got Talent is scheduled for every night this week as the semi-finalists battle it out for a place in the final this Saturday May 28th. A life changing prize sum of £250,000 is the coveted win  for the most talented performer and chance to perform for the Queen at the Royal Variety Performance.
