Half Term Fun June 1st -4th 2016

May, 19 2016

~Half - term is coming up. That means for some families across the country they will charging up their tablets and I pads so that their children can sit glued to the technological based entertainment streaming through their device.

It doesn’t have to be like that. Thanks to Preston’s Museum of Lancashire they are providing fun things to do for both children and young people that will keep them entertained for hours.

Here is a schedule of events :-

* Wednesday 1st June :- King of the Cats storytelling session. Jacqueline Harris presents tales of boggarts and imaginary creatures. Suitable for children aged 7 and older. Scheduled to run at 11am, 1pm and 3pm. Cost of which is £1.50 per child.

* Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd June :- Game learning about camouflage in nature and the opportunity to make your own animal mask. Suitable for children aged 4 and over. Commencing at 11am, 12noon, 1.30pm and 2.30pm. The cost of which is £1.50 per child.

* Saturday 4th June :- Special event marking Butterfly Education Awareness Day. Learn about the life cycle of a butterfly and different species. Also chance to get your face painted.

Additionally there will be a planting day for the local community. Adults and children are encouraged to participate planting and learning about flower beds to attract butterflies. A free picnic is also available on site too.

Activities on Saturday 4 June will take place from 10.30am to 4pm.

All children must be accompanied by an adult for all of the activities.

Charlotte Steel manager at Lancashire County Council's Museum of Lancashire expresses these words of excitement ahead of the half term rollercoaster and how there really is no excuse for families to have little or nothing to do,

"We've got so many fun things to do throughout the holidays. Many of the activities are suitable for a range of ages and we're running them at different times so people can just come along at a time to suit them.
Families have no reason to say that they are bored, no matter what the weather is like."

This  clearly demonstrates that there really is a whole world of fun to be had  for children, young people and even adults away from the small interiors of their house and the restrictive entertainment brands found on their tablets.

Booking a place is preferred and costs apply for some of the activities.
