Film Composers Classic Scores At Blackburn King Georges Hall June 2016

May, 12 2016

~We all like to go to the cinema from time to time. That blissful period of escapism away from the stresses and strains of modern life. Being able to switch off and enter a world that is fantasy and far from reality. The visual thrill of watching our favourite actors and actresses come alive with the skilful technique of cinematography and of course the epic soundtrack.

What if you entered a venue and there was no film. What if the whole audience instead were transfixed by a league of extraordinary musicians  performing the hit melodies of one of our most treasured film composers.

Look no further than the Blackburn King Georges Hall in Northgate, Blackburn, Lancashire. Yes, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra are set to make the classical workings of movie legend John Williams come to life.

On Sunday 19th June 2016 at 3pm conductor Richard Kaufman will take the lead in directing the accomplished musicians through a journey of William’s most accredited work. Think Star Wars. Consider Jurassic Park. Drift into fantasy with Harry Potter and much much more.

Richard Kaufman will be presenting a pre-concert talk prior to the show which will give an exclusive insight into the world of film music.
The Kathleen Ferrier bar is open from 1.30pm with the talk commencing
on seats at 2pm. The talk is free of charge and non ticketed. Capacity is limited so it will depend on a first come first served basis.
