Urban Village Fete London May 2016

~Venues for historical concerts have remained fixed in our minds for years after it happened.

On 13th July 1985 Wembley Stadium created an image in our minds and hearts forever, Live Aid  :- the atrocity of third world cultures as a backdrop to 80’s music icons.

In 1996, Britpop favourites Oasis  played a sold out gig at Knebworth attracting millions:- defining the indie era in a rock and roll way.

And in 2011 singer songwriter Paul Simon kept the world in solitude in paying respect to the fallen for the 10th anniversary of The World Trade on 11th September in New York city centre:- his classic Sound of Silence was extremely  apt and very  poignant.

In 2016, established locations are still being used to project either epic concerts or showcase the best in design, music, art, innovative events and modern craftsmanship.

The latter being the case for the annual Urban Village Fete taking place at the Greenwich Peninsula on Sunday 15th May 2016 from 12noon - 7pm.

The Peninsula has been home to showcasing big acts at the 02,  staging the London Olympics in 2012 and the London Soccer Dome formerly the David Beckham Academy.

Now the Urban Fete gets a chance to present it’s resources as an outlet for local suppliers, designers and performers as well as offering a forum for top local talent, all set against a range of established design stalls, music, DJ’s, dance, art & design workshops and food trucks with an international flavour.

The Fete is free and is a contemporary twist on the traditional village fair.
Poised amongst the metropolitan suburb of London the Greenwich Peninsula is fast becoming one of the coolest places to visit and one of the capital’s most exciting new districts which is  set to become ‘London’s ultimate village’.
