~When you watch police led or detective dramas on television you don’t realise the length and depth gone into developing the story in writing for script purposes in order for the cast to have a comprehensive story that flows accurately and has enough dynamic twists and plots to keep you involved for the full one or two hours.

Crime fiction writing has a similar objective. The reader must desire to read on to a complete chapter and yet imagine the scenario played out in their mind.

It must have the intensity to nerve you yet have an exciting adrenalin rush that makes you want to read the entire book.

Renee Knight and Fiona Barton are two of the genre’s highest profile authors. They have written some of the best crime fiction books that have kept fans enthralled in recent times and for many years.

Now fans can see these two high profile stars of the literary genre this Thursday April 21st.

Waterstones bookshop in Fishergate city centre Preston will be the writing residence for these established authors. Both authors are expected to give  talks and answer questions from an intriguing audience. They will also sign copies of their books.

If this appeals to you, visit Waterstones bookshop this Thursday April 21st. It will be held on the first floor with doors opening at 6.30pm and a 7pm start. Tickets are priced £5 or £3 with a Waterstones loyalty card and are on sale in store and over the phone by contacting :- 01772 555 766.

Fans of the authors will no doubt have their own personal copy of Disclaimer and Barton of the Widow, two of this years biggest thrillers and written courtesy of Renee Knight.

Fiona Barton is slightly newer to the world of crime fiction. Her debut novel ‘The Widow’ went to press in January 2016. Here‘s how one acclaimed American writer described her book,

" The ultimate psychological thriller! Barton carefully unspools this dark, intimate tale of a terrible crime, a stifling marriage, and the lies spouses tell not just to each other, but to themselves in order to make it through. The ending totally blew me away!” Lisa Gardner, the number one New York Times best selling author.

This Thursday may not literally blow you away but it could inspire you to be amongst two of the most credible contemporary crime fiction writers around today.
