Performance Art This Spring At The Continental

Mar, 15 2016

~It’s true to say the whole world is a stage. That would no doubt be the motto and theme of performing arts graduates across Lancashire and those aspiring for a career in the theatrical limelight.

For the rest of us we are eager for a source of escapism from the mundane daily battle called life. Meeting friends for a drink or a meal before watching a live show is a great way to relax and be enthralled in an imaginary place for a couple of hours or so.

As part of a non-profit arts and culture team that largely operates out of The New Continental in Preston, They Eat Culture has an exciting line up of performance art at Preston’s coolest and culturally inspiring pub.

Yes, this spring and early summer, The New Continental has work as diverse as radio shows to raves and chip shop love stories. Additionally, non-traditional spaces are also used for the performances they host.

Here is the full line up which kicks off tomorrow March 16th :-

*Scratch Preston – Wed 16 Mar, The Continental

*The Human Touch – Thurs 14 Apr, The Continental

*Cloudcuckoolanders – Wed 27 Apr, The Continental

*Late Night Love – Thurs 28 Apr, The Continental

*With a Little Bit of Luck – Thurs 5th May, The Continental

*Wilting in Reverse – Wed 11 May, The Continental

*The Oddity- Wed 1 Jun, The Continental

*The Stars are Made of Concrete – Wed 8 & Thurs 9 Jun, The Continental.

Most of the performances start at 8pm so why not make an evening of it, have a meal or drink with friends or loved ones then catch the show, you will not be disappointed.

Here are some words of wisdom to finish with from Jack Bowman on the concept of performance art,

“Performance art is the ultimate in creativity. Since it has so many possibilities at creativity, it's essence tends to become creativity.”

Catch a show and join in the fun this spring at The Continental.
