Originally called ‘The Mad Ferret’ after a certain sibling Britpop indie band, ‘The Ferret’, on Fylde Road draws in many Preston and the North West music aficionados every week.

Now as the New Year (2016) is soon to begin more live artists have been confirmed.

Bill Ryder Jones co-founded indie band The Coral from 1996 -2008. They had a range of hits including, ‘Dreaming of you’ and ‘In the morning’.  Bill quit the band in 2008  to pursue a solo career and has since released three albums ‘ If…’, ‘ A Bad Wind Blows in my Heart’ and this years (2015) ‘West Kirby County Primary’. He has infused sounds of classical, folk and alternative rock.

He’s going on the road with his current album and he’s making an exclusive performance at The Ferret on Thursday, February 25th 2016.  As a live act he has garnered positive reviews and continues to be an important contemporary artist. His last two albums made him a popular favourite across the festival circuits throughout England and he’s hoping his gig at The Ferret will seal it.

Tickets for Bill’s show are available via ‘Blog Preston’ where you can also read about another band The Ferret hosted, Brighton group ‘The Wytches’ a band that’s debut record ‘Annabel Dream Reader’ was produced by Bill himself.

Over the years since his break from The Coral, Ryder Jones has had the opportunity to work with some very talented and gifted musicians. The likes of Alex Turner from The Arctic Monkeys, Graham Coxon of Blur and singer songwriter Paloma Faith.

The Ferret is continuously pushing the boundaries and introducing new and relevant acts into it’s domain. For Bill Ryder Jones to perform at The Ferret is a real positive sign as they continue to seek to attract bigger artists.
