Summer Days Festival. Clitheroe Castle. 6th 8th And 9th July 2016

Dec, 24 2015

~Do you remember that glowing warm radiant ball in the sky? The sun. Do you remember days spent with friends, eating and drinking late at night and it was still light? The summer.

I’m sure you’d agree those two aspects of the best season of the year seem like a long time ago and still a long time to come back. Thankfully in these dire winter months of rain, rain, rain and more rain there is an exciting summer prospect coming to the North West next July.

On the 6th, 8th and 9th July 2016 Clitheroe Castle on behalf of The Grand will showcase a spectacular three day event which  will consist of live music, food and drink and exceptional good times with friends, family and loved ones.

Kicking off on the Wednesday 6th July, Simply Red will take to the stage ( Stars, Money’s too tight to mention)  alongside other acts such as Gabrielle( Dreams ), The Christians and Roachford ( Cuddly Toy)

Simply Red have recently experienced a comeback with this years ‘Big Love’ record which is an excellent return to form and includes hit single,  the funk and soul inspired ‘ Shine on’ .

In addition to the bands mentioned there will also be at least 9 other acts playing across 2 stages on 6th July. At present other acts or unconfirmed and a full bill will be released in the coming months.

If you’d like to keep track of the latest news on this promising gig for next summer or to simply book tickets log on to summerdaysfestival.com website. Alternatively you can visit The Grand on 18, York Street, Clitheroe, BB7, 2DL to obtain tickets  or contact 01200 421599. The Grand venue acts as a vendor of the event on behalf of summer days festival. The Grand does not accept responsibility for this event. Tickets are refundable by The Grand venue if the performance is cancelled or re-scheduled.  Tickets are priced at £55 with a booking fee and VIP tickets are also available.

Gates will open each day at 1pm,the first artists will take to the stage at 2pm and the event will close at 10pm. Other acts confirmed include the boogie woogie king of blues Jools Holland and Dutch pop and jazz singer Caro Emerald.

No doubt though the ‘star’ attraction is soul band Simply Red. You will ‘love the thought’  of seeing them belt out their big hits. And ‘if you don’t know them by now’ you will certainly will by the end of the night.

This is a mega event both for the people of Clitheroe and the bands/acts that have already confirmed their appearance. It highlights how such a small town can and will create a huge buzz leading up to and after the event.

If you’re a music fan and your from the North West you’ll want to be there so don’t miss your chance to grab yourself several tickets. It will make summer 2016 a memorable one.
