Classical Pianist Coming To Preston Minster Next January 2016

Dec, 2 2015

~Secretly, am sure we’d all like to play the piano like music giants such as Elton John and Barry Manilow. Perhaps we prefer a more refined kind of music, such as the classical type. You may be one born in a family that was or is a gifted musician at a young age, classed as a child prodigy.

In Lannion, France, 1962 one French composer called Jean - Efflam Bavouzet was born. He could be considered talented in the bloom of youth. Over the course of twenty years, he studied music at the Paris Conservatory, taught by inspiring teacher, Pierre Sancan. By 1986, he won the Beethoven International Competition in Cologne. He was still only 24. To top it all in 1989 he received the Steven de Groote Memorial Award for best chamber music performance at the Van Cliburn Competition.

In recent years ( 2010 onwards ) he released a cycle of the complete Haydn sonatas and has excelled in performing the five Prokofiev piano concertos in live concerts over a two-day period.

On Friday, 22nd January 2016, the Preston Minster will be home for the international piano recitalist. Doors open at 7.30pm. Tickets are £20 and can be booked by calling 01772 901313. Additional email enquiries are found at office@prestonminster.org.

The Preston Minster is found on Church Street, Preston, PR1, 3BT. There are a range of good local restaurants nearby and pubs to meet friends or loved ones prior to the performance.

Jean is best well known for his excellent interpretations of music by established classical pianists such as Haydn, Debussy, Ravel, Bartok and Prokofiev. He has also branched out further from his standard set of music and included Lizt, Tchaikovsky, Pierne and modern artist, Bruno Mantovani.

His tours have seen him take landmark countries around the world such as Europe, America, Asia and Britain.

With so much unrest in France, it’s good to see a little tranquillity and
peace taking place for this concert. For those with a more mature outlook this could be just the show for you. Enjoy.
