An Evening With Brian Blessed. The Grand. Clitheroe. February 12th 2016

~You wouldn’t have thought a trained undertaker and martial arts expert would be the ideal candidate for national treasure and comedy genius. That’s exactly what Brian Blessed is. As well as being skilled in funerals  and kick ass moves he is also a well known actor, film star and, unlikely diplomat. Despite all the bravado he is also a secret romantic and when he’s feeling adventurous he’s climbs the heights of Everest as a mountaineer.

But Brian had to craft his art, much like a sculpture. Through childhood and into young adulthood he eventually found fame in hit TV police drama ‘Z Cars’.  As the years went by he built up experiences and stories which captured the hilarious moments in his life. He had roles in Flash Gordon, a love / hate relationship with Peter O’ Toole and poked fun at his former headmistress Mrs. Jarman.

To compile all these classic anecdotes from his illustrious career he is releasing an autobiography entitled, ‘ Absolute Pandemonium’ and as patron of The Grand in Clitheroe, Lancashire,  what better way to show off such brilliant material then to do a live stand up show.

‘An Evening With Brian Blessed’ is taking place on Friday 12th February 2016. Tickets are priced at £20 and can be booked by either emailing the grand at hello@thegrandvenue.co.uk or calling 01200 421 599.  Additionally, a £1.50 booking fee would be applicable per transaction online, phone or box office.  Advance purchase is more cost effective than on the door. Disabled requirements are also taken into consideration.

It will be a seated event with doors to the venue opening at 7pm. Brain takes to the stage at 7.30pm and he will close his set at 11pm.

The Grand is based on 18, York Street, Clitheroe, Lancashire, BB7, 2DL. There are a range of excellent places to eat and drink around the town centre if you feel like making it a great and enjoyable evening.

Blessed is expecting feedback or an inquiring mind to ask him about his career or mishaps throughout his life. A question and answer session will thus take place after Brain has concluded his act.

Brain is big ball of energy and fun. With his trademark loud hollers and warm, life affirming delivery, he’ll no doubt have you in tears of laughter. A unique comic talent and  a much loved figure.
