14th Annual Health Mela 2015

Since 2001 organisations have been gathering together to raise awareness and promote their field of work in the area of health. Now in it’s fourteenth year the annual Health Mela 2015 is coming to the Foster building UCLAN on Saturday 18th April between 11 am till 4pm.
It’s an opportunity to share your place of work and gain valuable insight into specifc health criteria. These range from :- complete health checks including blood pressure and BMI, personal and confidential health counselling and a reiki taster session.
The best thing? It’s all free! As is parking on the day too. When you make your way through the Foster building you will find over 70 health and well being related exhibitors. Please take advantage of this as it could be really beneficial to you and give you peace of mind aswell.
So what are the main aims and objectives for the health melas? They are delivered and designed in a way to engage and empower the community to lead healthy lifestyles. They help to assist people in the direction of free health checks, advice and personal counselling and finally they are made to encourage the public to make an effective and informed use of health resources.
The health melas are not just primarily for young people, adults and the elderly. Children are also considered. There will be specific advice on mental health and well being for children and fun and games too to keep them occupied. There will also be a colouring competition for youngsters too.
The following five places is where the health melas will be held from spring to autumn this year.
- Bradford Health Mela :- Bradford University :- May 16th 2015 - 11- 4pm
- Manchester Health Mela :- The Sacred Heart School Baguley :- 27th June 2015 - 11-4pm
- East Lancashire Health Mela :- Venue tbc :- June 13th 2015 -11am – 4pm
- Leyland Health Mela :- Academy Worden :- 12th September 2015 – 11am – 4pm
- Fylde Coast Health Mela :- Venue tbc :-October 3rd 2015 – 11am – 4pm

The Health Melas are delivered in a way that helps us, as individuals, to take note of our lives and circumstances and to remember that now and again we have to look after ourselves and most importantly to take care of our health.
