‘Silver Linings Playbook’ is a 2012 American romantic comedy drama film written and directed by David O. Russell. Based on the 2008 Matthew Quirk novel of the same name.

Set in Landsome Pennsylvania, the story follows a young man with bipolar disorder who is released from a psychiatric hospital and moves in with his parents. Determined to restore the love of his estranged wife, he soon meets a young widow who enlists her support, on one condition – he must enter a dance competition with her. An inevitable closeness occurs as each one examines their own relationship status and their reaction to certain situations.
