Well done to Divine Days winning the Nelson Dance Festival Contemporary First Prize!
Managing Director Katie Whitehead said "The Nelson Dance Festival Contemporary Group 1st place goes to Divine Days Community Arts CIC dance group DIVINE DANCE!!!!!! Our group was the only competing with additional needs in the group and we came FIRST!!!! We were awarded a distinction by the adjudicator who marked our performance as "an excellent both technically and artistically you showed v...ery good discipline, congratulations to you and your choreographer" D. Skinner Adjudicator Member of The British and International Federations of Festivals commented when speaking of their entry.
"It felt amazing" said Anne Scanlan one of the dancers competing "we have worked so hard and win first place is great".
Katie Whitehead founder of Divine Days Community Arts CIC said I have never been more proud as standing on stage along side all the other dance groups who's talent blew us all away to hear our name called out. This is stuff dreams are made of and we can't explain what it means to be recognised in this way!
The support we have in the community is tremendous, we received our funding from Community Link to be able to take part and for our T shirts and hoodies which we are so grateful for.
We are proud to be heading up this years Ormskirk Dance Fest in conjunction with West Lancashire Borough Council and West Lancashire Rangers Service in Coronation Park on July 4th and hope to see many local dance groups and projects wanting to get on board with our Award Winning Dance Company.
