Spotlight on CCG Members - Isabelle Goodhand - September 2023

We all have a calling in life. Some may be gifted in music, others creative in a different field. This month’s ‘Spotlight on CCG Members’ has found her calling and is continuing to reach it until she is qualified. Let us discover more about Preston based Isabelle Goodhand.

The University of Central Lancashire enrols ambitious students  every year. Isabelle is one of those students. She is currently studying journalism and alongside her coursework she is actively involved with North West Bylines sharing the stories of the people and communities in the region.

It’s a dog- eat -dog competitive industry within journalism but Isabelle hopes her work gets noticed for creative stories shaped by thought provoking and impactful news content covering the people of the UK.

However, Isabelle hasn’t put all her eggs in one basket or all her pens in one pocket. As well as her interest in journalism she is also a teaching assistant working at an alternative provision for children with social, emotional and mental health needs. She has learnt that diversifying career paths means she isn’t confined to one role and if something doesn’t work out, she has a backup plan.
