Mysercough College comes out on top

Nov, 27 2021

Admittedly, it’s been  a difficult time for all of us and reports of further health scares could be on the horizon. Our children’s lives have been dramatically affected by the pandemic but on Friday November 19th The Educate Awards demonstrated that through sheer hard work and innovation  colleges can rise above COVID-19.

It was a battle from the most prestigious colleges in the North West but ultimately it was Mysercough College located in Billsborrow, that won the Most Inspirational 16-18 Education Provider category.

The college’s internal evaluations highlighted that despite a year of significant disruption, students responded positively beyond expectations.

There is a greater push for students to go  into apprenticeships to help them as they progress in their career following their time at Myserscough.

The following 4 minute film will provide an insight into the award winning college:-
The Educate Awards, in partnership with Copyrite Systems and Ricoh took place at the Liverpool Cathedral. There are 21 categories which focused on different aspects of school life including :-
  • Careers and enterprise
  • STEM ( science, technology, engineering and maths)
  • SEND ( special educational needs and disabilities)
  • Sport
  • The arts
  • Mental health and wellbeing.
Inspiring individuals are also recognised through the Teacher of the Year Award, School Support of the Year Award and the School Governor of the Year Award.

Kim O’ Brien, founder of the Educate Awards concludes with these words of gratitude for those involved,

“Over the past 10 years, the Educate Awards has proudly shone a spotlight on the individuals and teams who have gone above and beyond.

Senior leadership teams, teachers and staff have  really gone the extra mile for their pupils, colleagues and wider community and we can’t thank  you enough for all the hard work and dedication”.
