Jun, 29 2021

If a student wants to receive the best quality education at their time at a University then  the environment they are living in needs to be on the same level as the course they have enrolled on.

Work began at the Urban Hub site in Moor Lane, Preston near UCLAN in January.  The long term project is reaching the final stage of the grand construction process.

The new feature for UCLAN will cover of 42,000 square feet of built - up space consisting of four interconnected six-storey blocks designed around a green courtyard.

The finished product will bring natural light into the building and will become an outdoor patio making it ideal  for the essential social life the students look forward to.

A spokesperson for real estate developer Pillars expressed the possibility of what this could create for new and already existing students,

“Pillars’ vision is to provide Preston students with an exclusive living environment that offers everything they need to achieve academic success. With a great location that seamlessly integrates with university campuses, the Urban Hub perfectly complements UCLAN’S vision to provide a world - class university experience for 21st century students”.

Urban Hub will offer students the following:-
  • A selection of single and double fully furnished studio apartments
  • Complete with kitchenette
  • En-suite bathroom
  • Dedicated study
  • Living space
In addition, there will be recreational facilities including a private cinema and panoramic terraces.

A total cost of £33 million has been invested into  the new student residence which is expected to open in the middle of 2022.
