Trio take on March spring challenge

Trio take on March spring challenge

Mar, 9 2021

When spring arrives most people take to the garden and get out the mower that has been resting over the winter. If you’re feeling brave however, you and your mates may consider doing something physical for a good cause.

Donna Finn, Sharon Mulvaney and Fay Morne would normally be seen at Fulwood Leisure Centre getting active on the bike or rower. They’ve swapped those machines for an outdoor workout for the charity Rosemere.

They will combine the following into their mission:-
  • Crunches
  • Sit-ups
  • Russian twists
  • Various planking poses
Their overall aim is to do 100 abs exercises every morning throughout March. Each day, they will choose a different Preston landmark as their backdrop to celebrate the coming of spring to the city centre.

Lockdown has meant their membership in the gym has ceased temporarily so they have found other ways to get together and do something positive.

Donna who is a Rosemere Cancer Foundation volunteer comically revealed the roles of each member,

“Sharron is in charge of which abs exercise we do each day, Fay is the sergeant major who keeps us going and I pick the landmarks so suggestions gratefully received as I am trying to come up with an alphabetical list!”
