Local Artist Reaches Out On Instagram

Local Artist Reaches Out On Instagram

Apr, 24 2020

~There are two things you can choose to do during this lockdown period:-

  1. Feel sorry for yourself and wish things would return to normal
  2. Get creative and find the inner artist in you

For Preston artist Alice Bohannon it’s a no brainier. As an artist and lecturer at Preston’s College she is keenly aware that maintaining a level of creativity can really help during these uncertain times.

Her class ‘Drawing for Beginners’ is an evening session which guides new and emerging artists in the basic introduction to drawing.

Alice however, is going one step further. She began the @dailydrawlancashire account as a way to keep her students engaged through the coronavirus pandemic, as well as a way to encourage the wider community to get creative.

The Instagram page is designed for the local community to share their :-

  • Artworks
  • Drawings
  • Prints
  • Paintings

It is aimed at everybody from absolute beginners to complete experts. Alice who is a graduate of UCLAN’S MA Ceramics course had these positive thoughts on how it will help everyone who participates:-

“My hope is it will encourage creativity, raise spirits, and get an art community together online during this time of worry and uncertainty.”

To enter your work in the exhibition, message @dailydrawlancashire on Instagram.
