Social Work - Return To Study Event - UCLAN - 4pm - 7.30pm - 19/03/20

~Are you an older person? Perhaps you have a teenage children and you are juggling time spent with them as well as a full time job.

For mature students the thought of going back to school can feel like a daunting prospect. But could your life experience be an advantage for your next career path?

On Thursday 19th March between 4pm -7.30pm  UCLAN are hosting a ‘Social Work, Care and Community - Return to Study Event’.

It’s an ideal opportunity to find out more about the courses UCLAN  offer and to explore each module involved within the programme, from:-

  •  Asset Based Community Development
  •  Understanding and Working with Individuals
  •  Community and Families
  •  Study skills and ICT support.

The event will take place in  Room 359, Greenbank Building, Preston Campus. Upon arrival you  will be able to meet the  friendly staff and engage with peers and lecturers. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about programme content whilst being fully supported with the application and funding process. Group activities around theory and social policy will be available to participate within.

Interested ones will have the chance to learn about taster topics such as applied approaches and interventions in supporting vulnerable individuals/communities within society.

Once the foundation entry programme is successfully completed, you can enrol onto an automatic internal progression route for one of four programmes:-

  1. BA (Hons) Social Work (subject to interview)
  2. BA (Hons) Community Social Care: Policy and Practice
  3. BA (Hons) Children, Schools and Families
  4. FdA Community Leadership

Career opportunities cover the following:-

  •  Social worker
  •  Community liaison leadership
  •  Probation work
  •  Youth work
  • Social policy and NHS careers together with opportunities within other public services such as police and teaching.
