~Most of us would admit to appreciating a degree of live music and when the venue is held in an artistic building it adds to the  authenticity  of the performance and the magic is therefore enhanced.

‘Harris Live’ takes place on the first Wednesday of every month and as the name suggests it takes place in the Harris Museum and Art Gallery on Market Square, Preston.

It’s an opportunity to experience live music at the start of each month from 7pm - 9.30pm. Prices vary on each gig.

This coming Wednesday 4th March will feature ‘Two Man Ting’. This unique duo is comprised of drummer Jah-Man Aggrey and guitarist Jon Lewis. Their music is best described as sunshine afro roots infusing thought-provoking lyrics with an upbeat sound.  Tickets are £8.

For April and May it will play host to Robbie Cavanagh and Mahesh Navekar.

Robbie creates hauntingly beautiful music with intricate guitar melodies and powerful emotive lyrics. He has made a huge impact on the UK Country/Americana scene.

Mahesh is a trained musician and disciple of Pandit Haridas Popat of Mumbai, India, Mahesh has also trained under percussionist Professor H. Lahiry of UK. His musicianship has seen him perform with numerous local and international artists and has reached new audiences through the power of the media.

As the year progresses Preston will stage a number of events throughout the spring and summer. Live music will play a significant part in the ongoing development of the city centre. By September the Encounter Festival will return which will no doubt include a portion of live music in the programme. By the autumn ‘Harris Live’ will continue to amaze and impress new audiences with it’s excellent running order of musicians.

On Wednesday  7th October Chuva Guitar Duo will take to Harris Live.
The  duo was founded in 2018 by Manchester-based guitarists Rafael Onyett and Borna Kuca. They studied at the Royal Northern College of Music under the tutelage of the internationally renowned classical guitarist Craig Ogden. Since commencing their studies at the college, they have performed across the UK, at venues including the Bury Parish Church, Instituto Cervantes and the Royal Northern College of Music.
Tickets are £8 plus booking fee. For more details and to buy tickets online visit Eventbrite - Chuva Guitar Duo.
