~You’ve no doubt heard the expression ‘tied in a knot’. In a figurative sense it means your insides are screwed up and you feel an intense degree of stress in your mind and body.

In a literal sense however it could mean creating something that includes making knots.

Macrame is the ancient art of knotting, and in recent months, it has made a huge comeback. Whether as plant holders or wall hangings, large or small, they are a Scandi design dream. Not sure if its for you? -the crafting itself just needs time and patience, no prior knowledge needed!

Make Do Drink is delighted to bring you it’s  second Make Do Drink; Knot. A Macrame Plant Hanger Workshop hosted in partnership with Kiln and Craft.  It will take place on Sunday March 1st 2020 from 11am - 1pm at Cafune - 35 Market Place - Preston.

This is an ideal opportunity to learn the art of macrame. Drinks will be available upon arrival, either a cocktail or mocktail.  Expert makers will give you unique teaching methods to help you learn key knotting techniques  which will provide you with the skills to create your very own plant hanger that you'll get to take away.

Step by step instructions will instruct  you  on what to do next, along with experts on hand to guide you through. If you quickly adapt to this art form, Kiln & Craft will be bringing along some of their other kits that you could pick up and take home.

Each ticket includes:-

  • A marvellous Mocktail or Cocktail on arrival
  • A step by step guide from our expert maker and everything you need to get hands on and get knotting
  • Your choice of natural linen or mustard yellow
  • 1 x Macrame Plant Hanger and Plant Pot

The workshop sessions are the perfect way to spend an couple of hours with friends, family, or even focusing on some well-deserved 'me' time. All workshop groups will be small, and the casual settings make them the perfect place to meet new people and have some fun:-
