~Children have vivid imaginations. A trip to the video store sees them immediately reach for an absolute classic, ‘The Karate Kid’.
Following the film they all adopt names for each other and attempt to recreate some of the scenes and moves in and around the house.
A parent notices their potential and wants to set them on a course of specialised training but is not sure how or where a course exists.
This Tuesday 18th February 2020 you can take your children to ‘An Introduction to Chinese Martial Arts’. The class will run from 11.30am - 12.15pm. Sessions will take place at The Harris Museum and Art Gallery, Preston.
Kung Fu originated over 1500 years ago. It was designed as a form of self -defence rather than physical strength. The practice developed over time which consisted of strong, dance- like, fighting forms that eventually led to a self defence combat technique.
The 5-step consists of 5 stances put together in a way so that creates a flow. Kung Fu beginners will be taught this as the foundation upon which
all later forms are built.
Interested ones should arrive at the scheduled time. It is advisable to wear comfortable clothing when taking part. This may range from a sweater or fleece, especially when you're warming up. There is also a session at 1.30pm for those aged 9 and over.

Please note:- Children must be accompanied by an adult. Accompanying adults are not required to book a ticket.
