Head of Department for Emergency Medicine at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals.

Originally from Stafford, I started in the NHS as a Healthcare Assistant in Hospitals & Nursing Homes. I trained as a nurse subsequently and became an RN Dip HE.

Shortly later I started my Medical training at Liverpool University gaining my MB ChB in 2001.

I’ve worked in Emergency Medicine now for 12 years following completion of my junior attachments. I’ve worked in South Yorkshire, Merseyside & Lancashire.

I’ve previously held a school governor post in Blackpool and am an Honorary Teacher at Liverpool University.

I’m also the Medical Advisor to Emmerdale for ITV, and also held the same position on Casualty for the BBC.
