Alison Robinson became Principal and Chief Executive of Myerscough College, a specialist land-based and sports college based in Lancashire in April 2018 having previously held the position of Vice Principal and Deputy Chief Executive. Alison has 30 years of experience in the education sector in teaching, research, student support and management roles.

Working in partnership with a wide range of employers and sector groups, Alison ensures that Myerscough meets the needs of the local, regional and national needs of the land-based and sports industries. This includes networking in relation to subject specialisms such as agriculture, countryside, agricultural engineering, greenspace, equine, animal, veterinary nursing and farriery.

Alison is a strong advocate of student-centred learning and promotes the FREDIE principles of fairness, respect, equality, diversity and inclusion, which has enabled Myerscough College to become a Leader in Diversity as recognised by the National Centre for Diversity.

Outside of Myerscough College, Alison sits on a number of external Boards including Land-based Colleges Aspiring to Excellence (Landex), Land-based Learning Assessment Limited and The Lancashire Colleges.

Over the years Alison has engaged in a range of volunteering and community support roles including crisis counselling, marine conservation, and supporting various local community groups.
