Kim McGuire is a Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of Central Lancashire, UK, and is the Lead for the Peace and Justice Studies Network and for the Access, Inclusion and Integration strand of the newly formed Migration, Diaspora and Exile Centre. Her degrees are in History, English Literature and Law. She holds a PhD in History (Lancaster University), and MAs in Law (UCLan) and in Social History (Lancaster University). Her main areas of research interests, public engagement and publications include inter-personal conflicts in various social, historic and economic contexts. The foci are conflict construction of self and others, (linguistically, legally, emotionally, factually), and the effects of these. Ultimately, she is interested in how contentions can be perpetuated, or preferably mediated, regulated and resolved, including legally, but also in more innovative ways. Her work is interdisciplinary and engages with personal testimony.  Her overriding passion is the promotion of peace and justice for all.
