Suntosh Kaur

I am the Students’ Union President for UCLan, for the year 2019/20. In this role I chair the Union Board and serve as a member of the UCLan university Board which includes membership of the Resources and Remuneration Committees.  I am the spokesperson of the Union and I am also responsible for overseeing the Union’s governance and democratic processes and my overall aim is to create positive changes and improving the student experience at UCLan.

I previously worked in the Banking sector for 10 years and then decided to return to education in 2014. I graduated with a first-class degree in Children, Schools and Families and I am currently undertaking my Masters in Contemporary Practice with Children and Young People at UCLan.  I have a diverse range of voluntary experience from being a Course Rep, School President and previous Vice-President Education in 2017/18.   As well as, being a Scouts Sectional Leader for 4 years and the Vice-Chair and Community Governor for a local primary school in Preston since 2014.

I love to get involved and make a difference in whatever way I can, and I look forward to working with the CCG members and wider community.
