Dr Roxanne Khan is Research Director of onEvidence – a consulting agency specialising in independent social research, programme evaluation services, training, and consulting.
She is also Director of HARM (Honour Abuse Research Matrix) – the first and only international, multi-disciplinary research network focused on so-called ‘honour’-based abuse, violence and killing, forced marriage, female genital mutilation (FGM), and other under-researched and often misunderstood forms of domestic abuse.
As a Chartered Psychologist and Research Scientist, Dr Khan is an award-winning researcher and globally recognised expert in violence and aggression. She has presented her research evidence to the Women and Equalities Committee, at the House of Commons, and the Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy. Roxanne was also invited to the House of Lords to present her research at an event hosted by Baroness Sandip Verma.
She is author of The Psychology of Honor Abuse, Violence and Killings. This highly acclaimed book provides a much-needed exploration and examination of honour abuse, violence, and killings from psychological perspectives. The book draws on a wide range of research and theory on victims and perpetrators to bridge the gap between research and practice.
