Chair of Preston Arts Association (PAA). In this role, offers advice and support to arts organizations which are affiliated to PAA. Also edits a thrice yearly newsletter, PAA News, maintains a website and is much involved with the creation and staging of an annual arts festival in Preston (October). Invariably participates in the festival as a speaker whose mainly areas of interest are poetry and various aspects of the English heritage.

President of Preston Poets’ Society. In this role, runs monthly meetings, prepares programme of activities including engaging guest speakers and organizing an annual literary excursion. Edits a quarterly newsletter (PPS News) and prepares and typesets a book of members’ poems at roughly 4-5 year intervals.

Frequent speaker for various branches of U3A in similar topics to those mentioned above.

Member of Preston Recorded Music Society.
