I am responsibility for Academic Community Engagement in the Graduate School of Medicine, at the University of Wollongong. My interests span community engagement theory and practice, medical history and heritage, and women’s history. Some of my current projects include a history of regional and rural medicine in Australia; women in medical professional societies; and community based medical education.  My PhD was awarded by UNSW in 2002 for a thesis examining gender in medicine. I co-edit Palgrave Macmillan’s Gender & History series, and I'm one of the reviews editors for Metascience and Health & History. I am Immediate Past President of the Australian & New Zealand Society of the History of Medicine.
