After several years as a Senior Lecturer and then Principal Lecturer in Business and Management, Jan was promoted to the position of Head of Department of Strategy and Innovation in Lancashire Business School. Following the successful completion of her PhD at the University of Sheffield in 2006 Jan was appointed to the role of Associate Director of Lancashire Business School.
Jan’s research interests are in the field of healthcare management and organisational development.
Jan is a member of the University Academic Standard and Quality Assurance Committee and Chairs the University Academic Regulation Sub Committee. She is also a member of the Lancashire Business Executive and the School Leadership team and has lead responsibility in the School for learning and teaching and the student experience.
During Jan’s employment at UCLan she has been course leader for a number of high profile programmes including the MBA and part-time Postgraduate Diploma in Management Studies and has been active in research and knowledge transfer work. She is a QAA assessor and has extensive experience as an external examiner at a number of different universities in the UK.
