~January. A time of the year where some of us begin burning off the calories from the festive period. A time where anything remotely exciting rarely happens or if it doesn’t happen it’s unlikely to be joyous. What if I was to tell you about an event that will brighten up a fairly dismal January evening?

On Friday 12th January 2018 The Halle is coming to the Blackburn King Georges Hall for a night of classical favourites. Lancashire born conductor Stephen Bell will direct the orchestra through wonderful pieces from romantic waltzes to stirring marches. In addition, Jennifer France will be providing the vocal arrangement throughout the evening.

Tickets range from £18 ( adults), £16 ( concessions), £72 ( season tickets ) , £3( students in full time education. They can be obtained by contacting the Box Office on :- 01254 582 579.

The Blackburn King Georges Hall is located at Northgate, Blackburn, Lancashire, BB2, 1AA. It is found amongst a busy town centre with pubs, clubs, restaurants and a credible college.

You may wish to have a pre-concert supper at Blakey’s just round the corner. Meals are served at 4.30pm on the evening of the concert. You can book your place there by contacting :- 01254 582 897( option 1 ). Reservations are required and early booking is recommended.

The evening will commence at 7.30pm in the Concert Hall of the King Georges Hall and it’s hoped this New Year extravaganza will re-invigorate your love for live music especially on the classical world stage.
