The Blackout Film Project. Preston Guild Hall. 7pm. Thursday November 12th 2015

~Many top British locations have been used for film and television. In the North East of England in Newcastle the popular teen show ’Byker Grove’ was filmed. Stonehenge in Wiltshire was used for cult science fiction programme Dr. Who and Alnwick Castle in Northumberland was used effectively for family fun adventure in the Harry Potter film franchise.
One location though is yet to get it’s premier screening very soon. For the first time ever Preston in the North West of England has been the filming hotspot for local film director Alan Livesey.
Entitled ‘ The Blackout Film Project’ it focuses on a blackout that hits Preston and the lives involved of six individual characters. The stories are authentic and realistic. It concentrates how each person copes under such a trial and the journeys they endure.
A year ago this was in ’the dark’ so to speak but the early quarter of 2015 saw light shed on this exciting film project. The great news is that it will be reaching it’s premier at the Preston Guild Hall on Thursday November 12th at 7pm. Owners of the Guild Hall have put their trust in Alan’s feature and have thus wavered additional expenses for using the Grand Hall for the film screening through their arts and culture trust fund.
Coordinating director of The Blackout Film Project, Alan Livesey, said “The film wouldn’t have happened without the support of enthusiastic film-lovers in the Lancashire area. So many people and institutions offered resources and time to make The Blackout bigger and better than I could’ve imagined it could be. It really proves to me that independent film is possible even in the tightest parameters, if you share the idea with those around you and just let the word spread!
Support Preston and Preston people by attending this unique and original feature film. The Skiddle website is where you can maintain tickets of which will be free, please check for availability as this marks the first for Preston so expect tickets to be in high demand.
So once again, catch this must see film of Preston’s well known sites and sounds and glimpse into a blackout scene that affects the lives of it’s people.
Alan Livesey has these closing comments on his appreciation of being able to use the Guild Hall to launch his Preston based film,
“We are also very grateful indeed to the owners of the Guild Hall for allowing us to use this very prestigious venue in Preston as it affords the screening of the film to be of a high profile nature, which I sincerely hope it deserves.”
