Journeys Through the Tate Collection...
Mar, 18 2022
There have been some historical moments in art throughout the last century. Now in a new collection you can view such creations that cover themes such as :-
- Migration
- Colonialism
- International exchange
Discover how they all play a part in the history of Liverpool, here at the Tate.
One of the major highlights include Hew Locke’s Armada 2019 - a large -scale flotilla of boats and rafts suspended from the ceiling. The sailing vessels hold complex and multiple meetings, symbolic of colonial and post-colonial power as well as the artist’s own movement to and from Guyana as a child.
Curator Darren Pih explains more about this and other attractions at the collection in this short film:-
