Budweiser has a shelf empty for new employees

If you’ve felt a level of uncertainty about your employment status throughout the pandemic, the following information may bring some relief.

Beer chain Budweiser is investing £117 million at its breweries in Monmouthshire and Lancashire which will introduce 55 new jobs to interested ones.

32 new positions need to be filled at the Welsh site in Magor which is receiving £72 million to keep it afloat. The remaining £45 million will go towards the site at Samlesbury allowing 23 new jobs to potential new employees.

The company employs more than 1,000 people across the two sites and said the move would increase capacity and efficiency. A total of 3.6 million hectolitres will be produced which is the equivalent of 630 million pints a year, once all the projects are complete.

The beer chain managed to achieve a 19.6% growth in the third quarter of 2020 and 23.4% in the fourth.

Paula Lindenberg, president of Budweiser Brewing Group UK and Ireland, concludes with  these positive words of assurance in relation to the chain,

"Like many in the UK, we are focussed on a strong recovery of our economy, our communities and our country. By investing in our breweries with new roles and new technology to increase capacity, we're ensuring that we can brew and deliver great beers for many years to come. We know the beer industry is hugely valuable to the UK economy, and we believe our investments in our UK operations will be a catalyst for the recovery post-Covid."
