London Calling : The UK's No.1 Tribute to The Clash

London Calling : The UK's No.1 Tribute to The Clash

Dates: 05 May 2023 - 05 May 2023

Location: The Continental Pub - South Meadow Lane - Preston

In 1976 a punk rock band was formed. They were battling with political unrest and other punk bands such as The Sex Pistols.

However, The Clash were a force to be reckoned with. Frontman Joe Strummer carried the band through their 10 year career.

But it was their birthplace and experimental third album, 1979’s ‘London Calling’ which gave them reinvigorated interest both in the music press and for their loyal fans.

23 years later and frontman Joe Strummer tragically died at just 50. He was the trailblazer for the punk outfit and set the tone for many punk rock acts that followed The Clash since their demise in 1986.

It was inevitable though, that music fans wouldn’t forget his legacy and the impact he made on the music industry.

A couple of years after Strummer died tribute act London Calling was formed. They’ve been together nearly 20 years and remain the UK’s number 1 tribute act to The Clash.

They’ll be playing a live set of Clash favourites on Friday 5th May 2023 at The Continental pub – South Meadow Lane – Preston from 8pm.
