An Evening with Simon and Oscar from Ocean Colour Scene

Dates: 19 May 2023 - 19 May 2023

Location: Blackburn King George's Hall

In 1989 the music cultural movement was focused on indie giants The Stone Roses. However, it was during this time period that Solihull English alternative rock act Ocean Colour Scene was born.

Their first album failed to ignite a spark with music fans. But when second record Moseley Shoals was released on 8th April 1996 it touched a nerve with their audience and was amongst many hit records during the Britpop explosion boom.

Singles from that career defining album included –

  • The Riverboat Song
  • The Day We Caught The Train
  • You’ve Got it Bad
  • The Circle

They sounded so good with all the electric guitars, full on bass, vocals provided by frontman Simon Fowler and percussion courtesy Of Oscar Harrison.

It’s been nearly 30 years since their heyday and the band have evolved and matured since their youth.

This spring you can watch two members from the band perform a stripped back acoustic version of some of their best- known songs.

An Evening with Simon and Oscar from Ocean Colour Scene is taking place on Friday 19th May 2023 7.30pm at Blackburn King George’s Hall.
